When Life Feels Overwhelming

Experiencing suicidal thoughts can feel overwhelming and isolating. For some individuals, these thoughts are constant. For others, they arise during periods of intense emotional pain, depression, or hopelessness. Regardless of how they appear, they are a sign that you deserve compassionate support and appropriate care.
If you're experiencing suicidal thoughts, know that you are not alone, and help is available. While traditional treatments such as therapy and medication are effective for many people, others continue to struggle despite receiving care.
IV Ketamine therapy for suicidal thoughts has emerged as a promising treatment option because, unlike many traditional antidepressants that may take weeks to work, ketamine may provide more rapid relief for carefully selected individuals under close medical supervision.
If you are in immediate danger of acting on suicidal thoughts or cannot keep yourself safe, call 911, go to your nearest emergency department, or call or text 988 immediately. Ketamine therapy is not a substitute for emergency psychiatric care.

BDNF supports neuroplasticity, helping the brain from new, healthier connections.

This triggers a glutamate surge,
increasing BDNF (brain-derived
neurotrophic factor)
Ketamine interacts with NMDA receptor activity in the brain.

Ketamine works primarily through the brain’s glutamate system, temporarily blocking NMDA receptors and increasing glutamate signaling. These changes are associated with increased BDNF, synaptic plasticity, and the formation and strengthening of neural connections.
For some individuals experiencing severe depression and suicidal thoughts, ketamine may help reduce the intensity of suicidal thinking and emotional distress, sometimes more rapidly than traditional antidepressant treatments. This may create greater mental flexibility and a window of opportunity to engage more fully in therapy, support, and ongoing treatment.
Ketamine is not a substitute for emergency or crisis care. Individuals experiencing an immediate risk of self-harm require urgent evaluation and a higher level of support.
How IV Ketamine Therapy
May Support Suicidal Thoughts
A DIFFERENT PATHWAY TO HEALING
Is IV Ketamine Therapy Right for You?
IV Ketamine therapy for suicidal thoughts may be appropriate for individuals who:
-
Experience suicidal thoughts associated with depression or another psychiatric condition
-
Continue to struggle despite therapy or medication
-
Have treatment-resistant depression with suicidal ideation
-
Are seeking an additional evidence-informed treatment option under close medical supervision
Every patient begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to determine whether ketamine infusion therapy is appropriate and whether treatment can be provided safely in an outpatient setting.
Because safety is our highest priority, some individuals may require a higher level of care, such as inpatient or emergency psychiatric treatment, before outpatient ketamine therapy is considered.
What to Expect
Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation to determine whether ketamine therapy is appropriate for your needs. If you are a candidate, most patients begin with a series of six ketamine infusions over approximately three weeks.
Each infusion lasts about 40 minutes in a comfortable private treatment room with continuous monitoring throughout your session. Many patients choose to listen to music, wear an eye mask, and simply relax while allowing the experience to unfold naturally.
Following treatment, you'll spend a brief recovery period in the office before returning home with your designated driver.
